In 1945, elevator operators walked out of New York's office buildings. The city ground to a halt with millions of workers stuck on the street and a hundred million in losses. Automatic elevators had existed since the 1890s. Nobody would ride one without a person at the controls. It took the strike, and the decade after it, building trust car by car, building by building, before people would step into a box and press a button themselves. At Mercury, we build for the building class: the people who see something that doesn't exist and decide to make it real — with their time, their money, their team. Whether that's a side project or a scaling unicorn, we build the financial stack that gets them there. We believe the future of financial software is infrastructure that works on your behalf. We’re looking for a product leader to accelerate our AI bets – Command, CLI, MCP – and our API as we build towards a Mercury that is programmable and intelligent. This is a role for a builder who is capable across the stack with hands-on experience building with AI. *Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC. As part of the journey, we would expect you to: Develop a deep understanding of how Mercury's most technical customers use our product today, and what they're trying to do that they can't yet Lead the product vision for how our AI products – Command, CLI, MCP – transform the way people interact with their finance stack: from asking questions about their business to taking action on their behalf Define Mercury's strategy for connecting to the broader ecosystem of AI tools; build and automate the workflow end to end using Command, CLI, MCP, and the rest of our AI stack Own the roadmap for Mercury's API and drive it from niche, read-heavy usage toward a comprehensive platform that enables customers to build on top of Mercury Partner with engineering to make hard technical
