Businesses on Mercury are leveraging their financial insights to inform consequential decisions that drive their company forward. Fragmented financial data, inaccuracies, and delayed accounting reports result in these businesses making decisions based on processed historical data and not on the state of their business today. For accountants, this adds growing pressure to reconcile and review, resulting in less time spent providing exceptional service to their clients.
Our Accounting product engineering team exists to close this gap by enabling real-time insights for businesses that use Mercury. We do this by allowing businesses to connect their other financial software to Mercury, configure auto-categorization, and identify outliers that may lead to inaccuracies. By closing the books in real-time, businesses get a live picture of their finances, not a lagging one.
We’re looking for an engineering leader who is excited to lead their team to execute on our vision for real-time accounting and own a critical part of Mercury’s product growth.
As part of this role, you will:

Work closely with designers, product leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders to shape product strategy and execute on the Accounting team roadmap.
Collaborate with other engineering teams on overlapping work, optimizing for product cohesion and simplicity over strict division of responsibility.
The ideal candidate for the role:
Has 3+ years of engineering management leading full-stack product engineering teams, especially teams that have leveraged AI to build software.
Has made architectural decisions in the past and measured the impact of those decisions over t
